We got as far as Porto Kayio on the second finger. It was a long journey, from 6 am till around 4 pm, of which we were only able to sail the last three hours. When we arrived, there was one other yacht anchored in the bay, but later on more and more yachts arrived. We stayed two nights in Porto Kayio and then did the crossing to the first finger. Another day of mostly motor sailing, only the last two hours were we able to turn off the engine. We dropped the anchor in front of Koroni. Sonja prepared the three tunas Vic had caught that day and then we had a very bouncy night, with the swell coming from the wrong direction. The following morning at 9, we went to the castle and monastery to stretch our legs. At 10.30 we were back on board and left straight away for Pilos. We had sun, then rain and were continuously surrounded by multiple thunder storms, but they all kept their distance. Once in Pilos, Snow Goose and Isabelle took the last two spots on the quay. The clouds disappeared and we enjoyed a cool beer in a warm sun, sitting on the quay while Eddie was enjoying a shady spot (on the leash since he seems determined to jump on other boats lately).
Vic and Nico are getting very serious about this fishing lark, so they bought some new bait this morning. Maybe it’s time to buy a seafood recipe book?
