Anyway, we turned around and went to Sivota on Lefkas instead. Even here there was quite some swell coming in, so we kept our distance from the quay. The next day we went to Nidri, bought bread and had our last swim of the season in (a very clean!) Tranquil Bay, and then dropped the anchor in Vliho Bay to enjoy a Sunday Dinner in the Yacht Club and to empty a load of dirty towels and sheets in their washing machine.
The other three stops before we went to Lefkas were: Spartakhori and Abelike Bay on Meganisi and a town we hadn’t been before: Palairos on the mainland. It´s a friendly town and contrary to the summer months, there was plenty of room on the quay this time. Eddie loved the one and only tree on the quay.
We stayed a couple of rainy days in Palairos and then went up north to Lefkas town. A week before I was to fly to Holland, we went into the marina. The first three days we were very busy cleaning the sails and stowing them away for the winter, cleaning the sheets, halyards and ropes, doing the ‘fall cleaning’ inside, etc. etc. Once we had time to relax, we discovered that it’s very quiet here. There are social events going on, like fitness, guitar playing and happy hour, but you don’t see a lot of people walking around. I also wonder if rumors about Vic’s vocal talents have spread around the Med; there are only empty spots around us and the nearest yachts are deserted charter boats.
