... the parties continued .....
We´re swapping life on board: first I went to the Netherlands for 10 days and two days after I arrived, Vic left for England. Before my return flight it wasn’t clear if I would actually reach Sicily, thanks to a very active Etna. But all went okay in the end and I arrived in Catania only 20 minutes delayed. Sunday was the only full day we could spend together, but I was busy making meat balls and cooking ‘stamppot boerenkool’ (mashed potatoes with kale [had to look that one up]) for the Dutch Saint Nicolas party. I think I kind of went over the top with the amount of cabbage I bought in Holland, way too much! The party was fun! On Monday evening I drove Vic to Comiso airport to catch his flight to London. Since he’s left, he’s already missed a birthday party and the launching of Jilly and John’s 'home' built sailing dinghy (this event included lots of bubbly wine of course). This afternoon we’re celebrating a 60’s birthday on one of the pontoons and Sunday the Swedes organize their mid-winter celebration, which includes Santa Lucia. I don’t think I’ll get bored,.... |
